How the rounding works

Amounts are held as whole cents. Where a fair division leaves a fraction of a cent, the leftover cents are given to the members with the largest dropped fractions — the largest-remainder method — so the credit column always adds to exactly the pool and the charge column to exactly the value of consumption. No cent is invented and none is discarded; the note under the table tells you how many cents were placed that way in this settlement.

A check you can do by hand

Two members on 50% each, A generating 100 kWh and using 250 kWh, B generating 300 kWh and using 150 kWh, at a unit value of 0.25: the pool is 400 × 0.25 = 100.00 and the value of consumption is also 400 × 0.25 = 100.00. Method 3 should give A −37.50 and B +37.50; Method 4 should give A −12.50 and B +12.50; Method 1 gives 50.00 each and Method 2 gives 62.50 to A and 37.50 to B. If your screen disagrees with that, the tool is wrong, not you.
